Christmas and New Year 2014 Day 2-4

Day 2-4

Woke up at 4:30AM to the sound of church bells calling the community for “midnight mass”. Have I gone? Unfortunately I have not since I've been planning poorly but I eventually will. I'm also finding it funny that I'm jet-lagging and having difficulty going back to sleep even though I've gone to bed as late as 12:30AM for the last four nights. I am enjoying sitting and working out in our back porch that overlooks the garden.

I just love this part of the house especially for working on the computer. I'll come sit on the table set on the left to wait and watch for the sun to come out. There's something romantic about seeing the sunrise every time. The sounds become of the morning also come alive. People going about their way, heading to work or school; the rumble of tricycles going full of passengers. Uli came to join me so he can work on the company's VAT filing. I can tell this is not an area he commonly uses since he has a work desk in his house but since he saw me sitting here, I welcome the company. We do not get to spend time as much. I keep thinking I wish I had business that allowed me to move in and out of the country since I miss my family.

Went to the 5:30PM service. The parish church has grown with more parishoners and space. See the pic below of Holy Family Parish.

Our friend Jojo came last night to visit. He recently lost his left leg as a result of diabetes. He's in high spirits so that's a good thing to see. As always, we reminisce about the past and somewhat make plans for the future.

Also changed my profile picture in FB since I rarely get to have my picture taken with mom and dad. Quite happy to have this one. The Cafe Mary Grace has been one if not the current favorite of coffee shops dad 'walks' to.

My nephew Timmy has challenged me to play tennis later. Kind of looking forward to it even though I haven't' played for about 5 years. Last time I played was when Katharine and I visited in 2009. I've been doing some trash talking but know I'll probably get an ass kicking later.

The kids are out of school for the Christmas season so the house is abuzz with activity. Its quite fun seeing all of them having a good time. I can tell they all like each other and act like one big family.
